About

Sailing on Dreams means not accepting a scientific or religious idea as truth, but continuously testing it for its strength and its capacity to carry you away. It is studying society’s ups and downs through thought experiments. I don’t believe what’s going on, yet love to explore life’s loony lore.

Here, I write short stories, interviews and column-like articles. Most have to do with nature and the ways in which we humans are entangled to it. Other themes, such as cyber ethics and indigenous rebellion have crystallized over the years.

Nowadays, I also make video poems.

You can hire me for consultancy and research (I’m a published ecologist with a social science degree), content creation or social media for websites and newspapers, or if you need someone to shake up the rug under your feet. I can also help you organize events.

  2. I love this, “life’s loony lore.” What an excellent combination of disciplines, ecology and social science. Thank you for the follow, Gilles. I look forward to seeing you in the spaces between words at Spirituality Without Borders.

  3. Hi Gilles! Thank you so much for the follow. I am glad you stopped by so that I was able to see the awesome idea behind ‘Sailing on dreams’. Have a great day 🙂

  4. Hello Gilles. Thanks so much for following my blog…I’m particularly pleased that you are Dutch. Although American…all four of my grandparents immigrated from the Netherlands and I understand I have some distant relatives still there. I really like your site. I don’t know how you found me but it feels really supportive to my tender venture. Thanks so much! Tia

    1. Some Dutch spirit! Great! I was also not born in the Netherlands (but in Luxembourg), and I returned when I was 18 years old. I found you by looking for ’emotion’ in the WordPress reader, and I’m interested in spiritual stuff. Let me know if you plan to come over, then I’ll teach you some of our crazy culture.

      1. Wonderful…I’ll put that trip on a better list than ‘the bucket list’. I truly want to come at Tulip time. Great to connect and learn from each other. oh…if you come to Tucson Arizona sometime…I’ll show ya the fantastic Sonoran Desert…she is amazing! Tia

  5. Hello from Türkiye… just wanted to say “thank you”, I appreciate your recent ‘follow’, knowing how many interesting and entertaining blogs there are out there.

Blogging since June 2013, my little corner of the world tries to offer an eclectic smattering of posts, from basic amateur photography, to sharing my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day-to-day happenings here on our fruit farm in southern Turkey. I also throw in a few of my observations on life and lighter-hearted stuff for good measure.

You are more than welcome to have a look around, stay a while and have a trawl through my collection. There are plenty of categories within the drop-down menus to help in said digging process.

Hope you have a great day…

  7. Hi Gilles!

  8. Hi Gilles, I am sorry to have spelled your name incorrectly in my earlier comment. Got right this time…
